SEANC to host town hall on ECU/Vidant merger

Sep 23, 2016

SHOW UP AND STAND UP FOR ECU PHYSICIANS GROUP EMPLOYEES IN GREENVILLE ON OCT. 5

SEANC continues to advocate on behalf of the 1,200 State employees who stand to be affected by the proposed merger between ECU Physicians Group and major healthcare corporation Vidant Health.

Since news of the merger broke SEANC has made efforts to work with Project Unify leadership to develop solutions that would protect State employees’ wages, benefits and futures as development of the merger progresses. However, it has become increasingly clear that Project Unify leadership is not interested in collaborating with the only Association advocating on behalf of State employees.

We have asked for clear answers and have received political responses.

We have asked for a seat at the table and have been ignored.

Now, in response, we will hold ECU and Vidant leadership accountable to the State employees who have given years and decades of their lives to ECU, the Greenville community and the State of North Carolina. We are calling upon lawmakers to stand with State employees and demand the answers that ECU and Vidant leadership are unwilling to give.

JOIN US as we begin a series of public dialogues with lawmakers and the community on what this merger means for ECUP employees and the entirety of State employment.
