SHP board addresses changes, will vote on premiums in August
Jun 02, 2025
The State Health Plan Board of Trustees unveiled changes to the plan last week that will pass more costs on to state employees and retirees. The board did not vote on expected premium increases at this meeting. That vote is expected in August after the state budget is resolved.
The announced changes include increases to deductibles, copays, and prescriptions across the board, with a few exceptions. The Clear Pricing Project will end on Dec. 31 and be replaced by a Preferred Provider program that offers reduced out-of-pocket costs to members who choose preferred providers or facilities participating in bundled payment arrangements.
