Reaching the next generation of SEANC members

Apr 08, 2022

Like the rest of the country, state government is going through a generational shift. It's estimated that 16% of the state's workforce will be eligible to retire in the next three years, while 35% of that workforce is now under 40 years old.

Reaching these new workers can be harder than ever, but SEANC has launched an initiative to tackle these challenges head-on. We are working with Sarah Sladek and XYZ University to set the association on a course for growth in the future.

As District 40 member Tiffany Vaughan states in the video above, SEANC has a lot to offer millennial workers. Now is a great time to get involved. We are evaluating everything from the discounts and insurance products we offer to the communications tools we use and the policies for which we advocate to make sure we are positioned to serve your needs.

Another aspect of this is a recommitment to service. For instance, SEANC’s Emerging Leaders Council woke up bright and early last Saturday morning to clean up Old Crews Road in Knightdale as part of its Adopt-A-Highway community service project (See video below). And SEANC's districts all over the state complete service projects regularly to help their neighbors.

Big things are happening at SEANC, and we want you to be a part of it! If you are a young member who would like to help us on this journey, click here to let us know! You can also visit our Member Resource Center or call us at 1-800-222-2758 to find out how you can get involved.

SEANC also stands ready to represent members at all levels of state government, and values your input! If you have an issue that needs to be addressed, please access our Member Resource Center and send us a message!
