Sep 12, 2025

Delegates elected a new slate of statewide officers at the 41st Annual SEANC Convention to lead the association for the next two years.

The new officers will assume their new roles on Oct. 1. They are:

  • President Wendell Powell of Fayetteville, a Corrections Captain at Harnett Correctional Institution with 20 years of state service.
  • First Vice President Emily Jones of Clayton, a retiree who served the state for 30 years at Central Prison, UNC Hospital, and Wake County Probation and Parole.
  • Second Vice President Stacie Crabtree of Moncure, an Operations Specialist with the Department of Adult Correction’s Emergency Preparedness Section, with 24 years of state service.
  • Treasurer Timothy Morgan of Salisbury, a Programs Supervisor with the Department of Adult Correction, with more than 28 years of state service.

They are pictured above with Executive Director Ardis Watkins and current President Kirk Montgomery, who will continue to serve on the SEANC Executive Committee and Board of Governors as the Immediate Past President.

Also at the Convention, delegates heard speeches from Gov. Josh Stein and members of his cabinet, Lt. Governor Rachel Hunt, and Council of State members. They also passed Policy Platform Objectives to guide our legislative efforts in the coming year, and decided on Bylaws Amendments to address issues facing the association.
