Department of Public Safety begins COVID vaccinations for correctional staff, inmates

The Department of Public Safety announced this week that COVID-19 vaccines are slowly being administered to correctional staff and inmates. DPS reported that staff and inmates first started receiving shots Wednesday when the department received 1,300 doses of the vaccine.

Prison healthcare staff are currently administering the shots with some assistance from the North Carolina National Guard.
