President Stanley Drewery has chosen the creation of a special fund to assist the families of members who die in the line of duty while employed with the NC Government as the focus of the community service project for this year’s convention.

Unfortunately, it seems that deaths on the job are an all-too-common occurrence for state employees. It’s a risk that is inherent in the type of vital public services our members provide. The fund will be used to provide donations to families affected by these tragedies, and serve as a reminder that SEANC stands by its members.

President Drewery will bring this fund to the Executive Committee and Board of Governors to set the criteria before any funds are handed out as the amount and governance will be determined by the SEANC Board of Governors.
