Occupation: Operations Manager at NC State University. Previously employed with the Department of Public Instruction for 16 years.

How did you become involved in SEANC? I am a strong advocate for workers’ rights and decided to attend an annual meeting. After attending that meeting, I decided to get involved.

What offices have you held in SEANC? Chair and Vice-chair.

What has been the most rewarding part of being active in SEANC? The relationships I’ve built within my district and with other district members.

What do you wish everyone knew about SEANC? I wish everyone knew how great SEANC’s insurance products are for our members; I have the dental and vision plans.

What are your hobbies? I collect vinyl records. I listen to psych rock and some of my favorite vinyls in my collections are from Truth and Janey, Blues Creation and the JPT Scare Band. I also enjoy surf fishing on the coast and trout fishing as well as fly fishing in the mountains. One day my son and I caught 75 fish while we were at Kure Beach.

Tell us about your family: I have two children – My son graduated from UNC and is moving to Seattle for AmeriCorps. My daughter is a freshman at Appalachian State University. I also adopted a cat named Boo Boo.

What is an interesting fact about you that people should know?
I enjoy going to live shows and attended the 25^th anniversary of Woodstock in 1994.
