Q1: How did you become involved in SEANC?

A former SEANC district chairwoman, BJ Hodges, told me about SEANC. I joined because SEANC is the only voice for state employees. SEANC supports members in issues involving work and in the political arena. For example, SEANC is the only only one who stood up and tried to stop the DMV move to Rocky Mount.

Q2: What offices have you held in SEANC? Chair, Vice-Chair, Audit Chair, Policy Platform

Q3: What has been the most rewarding part of being active in SEANC? It is rewarding knowing that I am able to help other state employees – to be supportive and caring. I wish that everyone knew about all the SEANC benefits and programs. And I wish they were aware of the many issues SEANC has been involved in over the years. For example, SEANC’s efforts in the fight for longevity.

Q4: What are your hobbies? We live on a farm, so in the summer I enjoy canning vegetables. I knit, crochet, and am teaching myself how to quilt for relaxation.

Q5: What is an interesting fact about you that people should know? I enjoy life and am very thankful for my blessings. I always try to stay strong and keep a smile on my face – knowing that everything is going to be okay.
