Lobby Nights

Become a SEANC Warrior!

Each Monday night while the state legislature convenes, come for a special lobbying session at the N.C. General Assembly on behalf of public services and your co-workers who provide them. Need a raise? Want to reform the retirement system? Here's your chance to come out and advocate for yourself and your fellow state employees and retirees. Take your empowerment to the next level! Can't make it on Monday nights? Want to come more often? SEANC lobbyists are there every day. Just let us know when you can join us. The more voices standing up for state employees and retirees, the stronger we are. To sign up, click here.

Note: Lobby Night times are subject to change. We need SEANC Warriors to arrive at the Legislative Building usually between 5:30 and 6 p.m., beginning May 19. If you're coming for another session, just let us know and arrangements will be made.

District Meetings

From the moment you join SEANC, you are part of a family and belong to a district eager for your voice and participation. Each district has an elected chairperson who serves as your advocate at the Board of Governor's meetings. All SEANC decisions stem from district meetings. Whether you have talents or interests in policy, scholarships, communications, membership recruitment or serving as a convention delegate, your district has a place for you! Look at the online calendar of events for your next district meeting. SEANC's member action coordinators assist and empower you to meet your district's goals.

Annual District Meetings

Every SEANC district hosts an annual meeting from which all the association's grassroots action begins.  At annual meetings, members gather to elect their representative to the Board of Governors, discuss and vote on future policy platform objectives and bylaws amendments and select delegates for the convention held each September. District annual meetings are held during late spring into early summer. All members are encouraged to attend their district's annual meeting. Contact your district chairperson for more information.

Convention

SEANC holds an annual convention where the association's 900 delegates come together to vote on issues important to the association. Convention delegates determine legislative priorities, elect SEANC officers, award outstanding members, receive valuable training, meet legislators, raise funds for scholarships and conduct a community service project. Ask your district chairperson how you can become a SEANC convention delegate.
