Tony Smith was elected SEANC president in September of 2008.  When Smith was first vice president, SEANC affiliated with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in May 2008 to strengthen SEANC’s voice at the national level. 

Smith works full time as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton.  He has 16 years of service to the state of North Carolina and is member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Smith and his wife Linda reside in Morganton. They have two children and four grandchildren.
