Charles Johnson was elected SEANC president in September 2010.  Prior to being elected president, Johnson served as Second Vice President. 

Johnson works full time as a Correctional Captain at Central Prison in Raleigh.  He has 19 years of service to the state of North Carolina and is a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church.  Johnson and his wife Rose, who has been employed with the Department of Transportation for the past 12 years, reside in Raleigh.  They have three daughters.
