DISTRICT MEETINGS
From the moment you join SEANC, you are part of a family and belong to a district eager for your voice and participation. Each district has an elected chairperson who serves as your advocate at the Board of Governor’s meetings. All SEANC decisions stem from district meetings. Whether you have talents or interests in policy, scholarships, communications, membership recruitment or serving as a convention delegate, your district has a place for you! Look at the online calendar of events for your next district meeting. SEANC’s member action coordinators assist and empower you to meet your district’s goals.

CONVENTION
SEANC holds an annual convention where the association’s 900 delegates come together to vote on issues important to the association. Convention delegates determine legislative priorities, elect SEANC officers, award outstanding members, receive valuable training, meet legislators, raise funds for scholarships and conduct a community service project. Ask your district chairperson how you can become a SEANC convention delegate.

MAT
SEANC’s Member Action Team (MAT) is a group of super trained, active members who serve as grassroots lobbyists acting as a voice for state employees and retirees. MAT training, a one-day session, is held across the state to enhance leadership and communication skills, review legislative issues, provide education about EMPAC and empower you to talk to co-workers about how to help state employee and retiree issues get noticed in the halls of the legislature! Each year, you are invited to join your fellow SEANC members at lobby day to promote public services and share your personal story at the General Assembly. Lobby day is essential to the results of SEANC’s pay, health care and retirement benefit requests.
